Meaghan Shannon-Kolar
Born and raised in Arnprior, Ontario, Meaghan was introduced to drama very early through the Arnprior Theatre Lab program where her first role was “Monster #5” in Where the Wild Things Are. Her interest in the performing arts was expanded when she discovered musical theatre and began voice lessons. She continued to be in plays and musicals in community theatre and school productions throughout childhood and adolescence. Working with children was always a plan for Meaghan, and as soon as she was too old to be in programs she came back and volunteered, building her skills in coaching and direction. She went on to complete the Concurrent Education program at Queen’s University for Primary and Junior Education. Following graduation, she taught for the public school boards as well as delivered recreational programs for the City of Peterborough. Meaghan has now returned home to Arnprior, and wants to provide the children and youth of Arnprior with the type of performing arts programming she was lucky enough to receive.
